Dr. Peters loves to teach and preach. He is passionate about discovering the delights of God's Word and then sharing those delights with others in various ways. Dave enjoys providing an expository analysis of any passage of Scripture that may be appropriate for a congregation, and he is willing to prepare a study of any Biblical concept or subject of interest to a given church.
In addition, Dr. Peters relishes the chance to share comprehensive studies on various Biblical topics that might be of interest to the believer or to the seeker. The links above lead to a description of his teaching philosophy and to some of the Bible studies Dr. Peters has given at other churches in the past.
Dr. Peters' special passion is to make the Bible come alive by connecting the Old and New Testaments, by bringing out the irony and humor in Scripture, and by showing how Science and Faith are more than just compatible; they are truly complementary.
Domain Name
The domain name, "Daily His Delight," is derived from Proverbs 8:30, in which chokmah and tabuwn speak. These Hebrew words are generally translated, "wisdom and understanding." However, in this context, they can be thought of as, "science and mathematics," because chokmah implies technological prowess, and tabuwn includes the ability to compute a sum. Mathematics and Science are honored that God created them first, and then used them to help Him form the universe. They rejoice in the knowledge that God delights in them, and they are glad that human beings delight in them as well. Listen, as they speak as one voice:
The LORD possessed me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth, before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle upon the face of the deep, when he made the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth. Then I was with him as a master craftsman at his side, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his habitable world and delighting the children of man. -- Proverbs 8:22-31 ESV
Dr. Peters delights in enriching our experience in the Christian Faith by connecting it with the Old Testament, with Science, and with Humor.
